MEL was established in October 1991 as a private limited company. Its
headquarters are at Faisalabad. The core business of the company was
manufacturing of edible oils and ghee. After two decades of hard work
MEL has grown into a multifaceted consumer products manufacturing
company. It is enjoying exceptional growth both horizontally and
vertically.
We are in Edible Oils and sugar industries for the past two decades.
The management of the company has a rich experience in edible oil and
sugar fields. Their main concentration lies on the production of high
quality products.
We are marketing edible oil and sugar products under our own brand
name. Our Kisan Edible Oil, Kisan Ghee and Kisan sugar are famous
brand names in Market.
We have two integrated units of
edible oil, each comprising of a Solvent Extraction Plant, Physical
Refinery and Fractionation Plant, margarine plant and soap plant. We
have our own full fledge Packaging division for packing of our edible
oil products.
We have trained and highly motivated staff in marketing departments of
our various industries for aggressive marketing of our branded
products.
MEL has a well established and effective chain of distributors and
agents for continuous supply of our products throughout the domestic
market in Pakistan.

Ghee & Oil
Manufacturing Division
Ghee and Oil are
Major products of MEL. MEL has manufacturing capacity of 180,000 MT
per year. We have gained a huge market for our edible oil and ghee
products. Kisan Sun Flower, Kisan Vegetable ghee and cooking Oils are
popular brands among consumers of edible oil products in Pakistan. MEL
has also launched its second Brand in Banaspati ghee and Oil market
under the name and style of DATA. We are known as manufacturers of the
finest oil and ghee products for our valuable customers throughout the
country.
Madina Enterprises Limited (MEL)
started CPO project in Year 2004. The new refinery is a response to a
large demand for palm oil products and particularly the refined,
bleached and deodorized components. The new facility is situated in
port qasim industrial area near Karachi. The refining capacity of the
facility will be sufficient to produce 500 metric tones per day of
refined palm oil. The refinery site will have room for further
expansion at the facility since the use of palm oil products could
expand rapidly. This state of the art plant can refine other oils also
like canola and sunflower.
Although palm oil products are used
mainly as food additives (80%) and in the cosmetics and soap
manufacturing industries at the moment there is a move towards the use
of refined palm oil as bio-diesel to power motor vehicles as well.

Soap
Manufacturing Division
Madina Enterprises
Ltd is a quality soap manufacturer for Domestic Market. Traditional bar soaps are
made from fats and oils or their fatty acids which are reacted with
inorganic water-soluble bases. The main sources for soap manufacturing
i.e. Palm Oil and Palm kernel oils are extracted crude palm oil
refining process. The Raw materials are being pretreated to remove
impurities and to achieve the color, odor and performance features
desired in the finished soap bar.
Madina Enterprises
Ltd is producing Kisan Margarine as a consumable product for local
market needs.
Margarine is a butter-like product
that typically contains 80% refined vegetable oils blended and
emulsified with approximately 20% milk (whole, skim, or soy), and
usually fortified with vitamin A. It is widely used both as a spread
and as a cooking fat. Margarine is a Butter Substitute Kisan Margarine is being used for
making Bread, Bread products biscuits, pastries, crisps, chocolate and
cakes etc.
At MEL we are manufacturing our own
Plastic Bottles, Buckets and other packing stuff. We are using food
Grade plastic for manufacturing best quality packing for our branded
products.
This Year has seen
commissioning of our new Sugar Plant. This
project shall be comprising of total crushing capacity of 14,000 tons
per day. Initially it shall operate at 8000 tons per day capacity
which is expected to extend up to 14,000 tons per day in 2008-2009.
It is located adjacent to the ghee
mills near Chiniot. The project stands on about 75 Acres of freehold
land acquired by the management. This site was chosen by the
management as approximately 50000 acres of land is being cultivated
for sugar cane crop in and around chiniot. Cane is being supplied to
mills as far as 300 km away from chiniot. There are no sugar mills in
tehsil chiniot at the moment. Therefore management decided to avail
this opportunity and launch a sugar mill in this area.
Plant of the project consists of
mill house, boiler house, power house and process house. Plant has
been procured from four sources namely import from china, U.K, heavy
mechanical complex, local vendors and own fabrication.
This venture will not only diversify
the current portfolio but also provide some significant cost reduction
in power usage in ghee mills as well.
The company intends to launch pure
drinking water with the brand name of “Better Life” very soon. The
water market has tremendous scope. There are very few national level
brands like Nestle and aquafina. Rest are mushroom products. It is
hoped that the product will be launched very soon.
The company has completed the
construction of bulk storage terminal with storage capacity of 22000
MT at port Muhammad Bin Qasim in record time. This new addition shall
not help reduce cost but also provide storage facility to safeguard
price fluctuations.

institutions and charities.
Madina Foundation (a not-for-profit Organization)
Madina Foundation established by
the Group, is one of the leading charitable organizations in the
country. Irrespective of any creed, class, caste or religion, the
Foundation is serving humanity in the domain of health, higher
education and social welfare as well as providing support to numerous
charitable institutions in Governmental & Non-Governmental sectors.
So far, the Foundation through its own resources & without any help or
support from any national or international agency has spent million of
Rupees towards various charitable activities in Pakistan.
The University of
Faisalabad
Is a not-for-profit
University. Was established in October, 2002, to cater to the
educational and technological needs emerging from the progressive
scenario of the country in general and Faisalabad and surrounding
areas in particular and, for alleviation of poverty through education,
with a missionary spirit, commitment and fervor in line with the
Government’s policies and priorities. The University offers a
diverse range of disciplines / courses leading to graduate and post
graduate degrees in Medical, Engineering, Computer Sciences and,
Business Administration. The campus has hostel accommodation for
400 male and female students. The University was chartered by an
Ordinance promulgated by Government of the Punjab. It is
recognized by Higher Education as a degree awarding university.
Madina Medical Complex
It is a free 300
bed General Hospital equipped with latest equipments and experienced
staff. The Foundation has also been running an Eye Treatment
Centre for all types of eye treatment including corneal grafting since
1990. Besides, several mobile eye camps have been arranged in
various remote parts of the Country and abroad to provide free of cost
services .
Services towards Religion
We have been sponsoring a program, Quran-ul-Hakeem, being telecast for
one hour daily through PTV for the last 10 years for a noble cause.
Constructed several mosques in the Country to facilitate Muslims to
offer prayers.
Relief for Earthquake Victims
During the last two
decades we have been always at the forefront in providing relief and
support to thousands of distressed people at the time of natural
calamities anywhere in the country. We have remained in the forefront
in providing relief in terms of money, relief goods to the earthquake effectees.
This mission is continuing to this day.
Jail Welfare Program
Considering the depleted condition of the jails and lack of basic
minimum facilities available there, the Foundation has been providing
relief to the inmates as follows:

In hot season, cold drinking water
is provided. In peak heat period Rooh Afza is served.

In death cells, condition of the
rooms has been up graded to provide better comfort to the accused.

Facilities are also being provided to females. Their
barracks have been renovated and new blocks are being added. Besides,
the quality of the basic utilities has been improved.

Realizing that the crime rate increases with illiteracy,
the Foundation has started education program in jails. It has been
supplying books and other helping material.

Special food is provided on special
occasions/festivals like, Rabi ul Awal, Eid days, Haj days,
Ramazan etc.

The Foundation helps in getting
release of prisoners who have completed their terms of imprisonment
but continue to languish in jails because they cannot afford to pay
the fine and get freedom. The Foundation pays the amount of fine
and gets the prisoners freed to enable them start a new life.
Mass Marriages Program
The Foundation has started a mass marriages program. It is helping
poor people through sponsoring marriages. As a gift (Jahaiz) to the
couple, the Foundations provides furniture for a bed room, crockery,
cutlery, utencils, fan, electric iron, set of gold ornaments and other
basic necessities to enable the couple to comfortably start their
matrimonial life. Besides, the total expenditure of the marriage
party including transportation of barat, meal, and all costs of the
marriage ceremony are borne by the Foundation. The Foundation has
sponsored more than 1,000 couples/families under the mass marriages
program in various parts of the country so far.
Services to Poor
People.

The Foundation is providing
financial assistance/subsistence allowance to the widows and the
handicapped regularly on monthly basis.

Ration is provided to about 500
poor persons on daily basis.

Under a Free Food Program, more
than 10,000 people are served free cooked food at various designated
places three times daily in Faisalabad and Karachi.
Graveyard and
Burial Services
The Foundation has developed a modern graveyard at Port Qasim where
free burial services are provided including free transportation of the
dead and his/her close relatives.
