Considering the depleted condition of the jails and lack of basic minimum facilities available there, the Foundation has been providing relief to the inmates as follows:
In hot season, cold drinking water is provided. In peak heat period Rooh Afza is served.
In death cells, condition of the rooms has been up graded to provide better comfort to the accused.
Facilities are also being provided to females. Their barracks have been renovated and new blocks are being added. Besides, the
quality of the basic utilities has been improved.
Realizing that the crime rate increases with illiteracy, the Foundation has started education program in jails. It has been supplying
books and other helping material.
Special food is provided on special occasions/festivals like, Rabi ul Awal, Eid days, Haj days, Ramazan etc.
The Foundation helps in getting release of prisoners who have completed their terms of imprisonment but continue to languish in
jails because they cannot afford to pay the fine and get freedom. The Foundation pays the amount of fine and gets the prisoners freed to enable them start a new life.
